Purkeys warrants each product to be free of defects in material workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty benefits the customer and covers products made by Purkeys and sold by Purkeys or their authorized dealers. The warranty period is 36 months. This warranty is not valid if the product is not used correctly or is altered without written consent. Defective products must be inspected by Purkeys as part of the warranty claims process. The warranty will not apply if the product is subjected to an accident, faulty repair, improper installation, neglect, or defects in the peripheral vehicle components.
What makes the Solar Bolt different from other solar charging systems?
Most solar systems are used in conjunction with a traditional vehicle charging system. A typical solar system will shut off when the traditional charging system is operating, providing no benefit. The Solar Bolt uses a unique, patented controller that allows the solar system to operate even while the traditional charging system is functioning, so there is still a benefit.
How many panels does a Solar Bolt system need?
The Solar Bolt uses 90 watt panels and is configurable in combinations of 1-4 panels (90-360 watts). The number of panels needed is determined by various factors, including size of electrical loads, location in the country, panel mounting location, and weather conditions. To determine wattage demand (number of panels), consultation with a Purkeys’ Solar Bolt representative is recommended.
How are the Solar Bolt panels mounted?
The Solar Bolt panels are held in place by an adhesive backing. To mount a panel: clean debris or contaminants off the mounting location, remove the adhesive strip on the back of the panel, and press the panel in place. No holes need to be drilled for mounting purposes.
Are there any incentives available for using the Solar Bolt?

How long does it take to install the Solar Bolt, and does it require specialized training?
An installation requires that the panel(s) and controller be mounted and the wiring be routed and attached. Installation time can vary, but a 3-panel system mounted to the roof of a trailer, with the controller mounted in a liftgate battery box, will take an experienced technician approximately 4 hours. Each Solar Bolt kit contains a detailed installation guide containing step-by-step instructions and photos, so no special training is required. Will snow, ice, or debris on the panels affect the performance?
Yes. Anything that prevents the sunlight from striking the panel will impact the performance of the system. Normal dust and dirt will be washed away by rain striking the panels, but snow and ice can greatly reduce performance. Careful removal of snow and ice is recommended so system performance is not compromised.
Can the Solar Bolt system be used in conjunction with a traditional vehicle charging system?
Yes, the Solar Bolt can be used to provide additional power in situations where a traditional charging system cannot supply the necessary power.
