Leaving the comforts of home behind is a big part of being a driver. However, our DC to AC modified sine wave inverter helps drivers feel more at home by providing in-cab power for devices such as cooking appliances or computers.
Our modified sine wave inverters use a programmable low voltage disconnect (LVD) or timer to ensure the inverter shuts off before the tractor batteries discharge too deeply.
Protects vehicle batteries with timer or LVD settings
Provides drivers easy access to home comforts without draining tractor batteries
Prevents discharged batteries and costly jumpstarts
Purkeys warrants each product to be free of defects in material workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty benefits the customer and covers products made by Purkeys and sold by Purkeys or their authorized dealers. The warranty period is 36 months. This warranty is not valid if the product is not used correctly or is altered without written consent. Defective products must be inspected by Purkeys as part of the warranty claims process. The warranty will not apply if the product is subjected to an accident, faulty repair, improper installation, neglect, or defects in the peripheral vehicle components.
An inverter is a device that converts direct current into alternating current, which is needed to run AC electrical appliances.
What size inverter do I need?
This depends on the appliances you want to operate on the inverter. The wattage of the appliance can usually be found somewhere on the device. If this value is available, add the wattages together and use the total as a guide for determining what size inverter is needed. If the appliance wattage is unknown, a tool known as a Kill-a-Watt, made by P3 International, can be used to measure the appliance wattage. The Kill-a-Watt is an affordable tool that is available through Purkeys. Visit HTTP://PURKEYS.NET/MEASURING-ENERGY-CONSUMPTION-FROM-AC-POWERED-DEVICES-IN-YOUR-TRACTOR/ for further details.
What makes a Purkeys Inverter different than other inverters?
The power needed to operate appliances comes from the vehicle batteries and charging system. The Purkeys Inverter is equipped with DynaBalance technology, which maintains a balance between the vehicle electrical system and the driver’s power needs. It provides this balance by using a programmable Low Voltage Disconnect or a timer function that can be customized to fit the needs of a fleet or truck driver.
How long does it take to install an inverter, and is special training required?
No special training is required. All required parts and components are supplied with easy-to-follow installation instructions. A technician with basic hand tools can complete an installation in less than one hour.
