Bruce Purkey and his daughter Robyn Wassman moved to Northwest Arkansas to open Purkeys in 1990. Twenty-five years later, the company is still family-owned and operated. “A family business is not just not a 9 to 5 job,” Robyn said. “When you close the door, it doesn’t end. The business is part of your life at all times.”

The Purkeys knew a successful business required a lot of hard work and they never failed to give the business their all. Working side-by-side, they turned the business into an innovative company that delivers cost-effective solutions to the electrical needs of heavy-duty fleets. “It was a pretty big risk for my parents, I realize now,” said Purkeys’ CEO Justin Purkey. “Looking back, I obviously realize it was the best move they could have made.”

While family plays an important part in the business’ success, the Purkeys know they could not have made it this far without their customers, vendors and employees. A silver anniversary celebration will be held at Purkeys’ Northwest Arkansas Headquarters to thank those who have helped them reach this business milestone.

Join the Purkeys on August 19 as they celebrate their 25th year in business. There will be great food, music, drinks, and the chance to win one of three trip packages! Take a tour of the Purkeys facility to see what happens behind the scenes, and don’t miss the special viewing of the short video looking back on the past 25 years.
