PURKEYS SAYS, “THANK YOU” TO ROBYN WASSMAN FOR HER 25 YEARS OF SERVICE

Robyn Purkey Wassman moved to Bentonville, Arkansas in 1990 to help her dad Bruce open Purkeys. “She was nineteen years old when my dad started this company,” said CEO Justin Purkey. “My dad asked her to help him start out and then she could go back to school. Twenty-five years later, she’s still here.”

Robyn worked behind the scenes to help her dad and the business succeed. Her main job description was to do what was needed and as Bruce states, “anything I didn’t want to do.” To the outside she was mainly known as “Bruce’s Daughter” until about five years ago when she became the executive director of finance.

From invoicing to unloading trucks, no task was too small.  “What has impressed me more than anything is what she’s been able to do just by sheer grit,” Justin said. “If Robyn weren’t here, I don’t think they would have made it.”

“I am blessed that she is my daughter. I don’t think anyone else would have put up with me like she has over the years,” said Chief Creative Engineer Bruce Purkey. “I’ve never called Robyn an employee, she’s always been my partner.”
